8.2 rtr chassis vs. the +3mm FT

I just bought the FT 3mm added chassis. Is there a noticeable advantage to the factory team chassis? Is it 3mm thicker? B/c on the team site it says 3mm 'longer'...

I'm hoping it's worth it's weight in gold!
